Philippines Celebrates PISA 2025 Triumph: DepEd NCR Honors Schools and Partners Behind Historic Rise

On September 30, 2026, Novotel Quezon City became the stage for recognition and gratitude as Education Secretary Sonny Angara and DepEd NCR Regional Director and concurrent OIC-Assistant Secretary for Operations, Asec. Jocelyn DR Andaya honored the people behind the Philippines’ remarkable improvement in PISA 2025. During “PISA 2025: A Night of Excellence and Shared Achievement,” 20 participating schools and education leaders from DepEd NCR were celebrated for their invaluable contributions.

The event underscored that collaboration—not just assessment—prepares Filipino learners for a brighter future. Asec. Andaya led the gathering alongside NCR Schools Division Superintendents, with Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano and Malabon Mayor Jeannie Sandoval in attendance. Partners from Khan Academy, Casio Philippines, and Rebisco Biscuit Corporation also joined, proving that elevating education takes a whole community.
