DepEd, DOH, and Quezon City LGU Launch Free Health Services for Teachers and Learners at Esteban Abada Elementary School
DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte spearheaded a joint initiative providing free health consultations and medicines to teachers and learners at Esteban Abada Elementary School earlier today.
The program, aimed at promoting wellness in schools, offered medical check-ups and essential medicines to ensure the health and readiness of both educators and learners. Secretary Angara emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare in schools, stating, “Healthy teachers and learners are the foundation of a strong education system.”
Mayor Belmonte reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to supporting DepEd and DOH programs, highlighting QC’s continuous efforts to prioritize education and health. The event was also supported by Usec. Wilfredo E. Cabral, DepEd NCR Regional Director, Asec. Jocelyn DR Andaya, SDS Carleen S. Sedilla, and Principal Janice Palaran.
This initiative marks another step in strengthening the collaboration between national agencies and local governments to enhance the welfare of the education sector.
