Fortifying the Future: NCRPO, DepEd NCR Unite to Shield Metro Manila Schools from Emerging Threats
In a decisive move to protect the region’s learning environments, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), under PBGEN Christopher N. Abrahano, spearheaded the 1st Metro Manila School Safety and Security Summit 2026. Held last October 8-9 at The Crossroad Center in Quezon City, the two-day event gathered top education and law enforcement officials, including DepEd NCR Regional Director and concurrent OIC-Assistant Secretary for Operations, Asec. Jocelyn DR Andaya and DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
Centered on the theme “Safe Schools, Secure Communities,” the summit addressed critical security vulnerabilities, early warning signs, and emergency preparedness. This collaborative initiative aims to establish a comprehensive Metro Manila School Safety and Security Framework, ensuring proactive protection and unified action for students, teachers, and communities against active threats.
