A New Dawn for Education: DepEd NCR Kicks Off Love Month with Sonnet, Announces Key Leadership Moves
The Regional Office grounds resonated with poetic verse this morning as the Finance Division-led flag ceremony ushered in February.
In a distinctive start to Love Month, DepEd NCR Regional Director and concurrent Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Operations, Asec. Jocelyn DR Andaya captivated personnel with a recitation of William Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116, emphasizing the “marriage of true minds.” Building on this theme, Asec. Andaya announced a poem recitation contest for all RO personnel on February 13, fostering a culture of artistry alongside administration.
The ceremony served as a platform for significant leadership transitions. Asec. Andaya formally announced the transfer of OIC-Assistant Regional Director duties from SDS Carleen S. Sedilla to incoming OIC-ARD Rita E. Riddle. Key appointments include new OIC-Chiefs: Dr. Lydia L. Martin for Quality Assurance Division and Dr. Herbert D. Vertucio for Policy, Planning & Research Division. Also, the appointment of new Attorney III of Legal Unit, Atty. Melford A. Lapnawan.
The leadership cascade extends to Schools Division Offices, new SDS and ASDS appointments in SDO Mandaluyong with SDS Margarito B. Materum and ASDS Aurelio G. Alfonso; SDO Pasig with SDS Romela C. Cruz; and SDO Manila with SDS Sheryll T. Gayola and ASDS Charlie O. Fababaer. These strategic movements underscore the region’s three-year drive to enhance learning outcomes through decisive, effective leadership, ensuring efficient service remains the primordial priority.
