PBBM Inaugurates AI Revolution in Classroom at Quezon City Science High School Launch

In a landmark event signaling a new digital era for Philippine education, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. led the national launch of Project AGAP.AI (Assistive Generative AI for Personalized Learning) at the Quezon City Science High School this morning, January 9. The ceremony marks a decisive step in integrating advanced, ethical artificial intelligence into the country’s public education framework.

The President, alongside Education Secretary Sonny Angara and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, was formally welcomed by DepEd NCR Regional Director and concurrent Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Operations, Asec. Jocelyn DR Andaya, and School Principal George Emmanuel Martin. The event, hosted by the DepEd NCR Regional Office and SDO Quezon City, transformed the campus into a showcase for the future of learning.

Project AGAP.AI is designed as a secure, localized platform to function as a 24/7 personalized learning assistant for students and an instructional co-pilot for teachers. In his keynote, President Marcos emphasized that the technology is a tool for equity, aiming to bridge educational gaps and empower every Filipino learner. The choice of Quezon City Science High School as the launch site underscores a commitment to pioneering this transformation within the nation’s premier science institutions.
