DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara Visits DepEd NCR, Checks Pulse of Region’s Premier Education Engine
Secretary of Education Sonny Angara conducted a high-level visit to DepEd NCR Regional Office earlier today, engaging directly with the administrative core tasked with steering the country’s most competitive Regional Office.
The Secretary was officially received by DepEd NCR Regional Director and concurrent Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Operations, Asec. Jocelyn DR Andaya, who led the welcoming delegation. The assembly comprised personnel and Chiefs from the Region’s diverse Functional Divisions and offices, representing the multifaceted machinery of education delivery in the metropolis.
In a show of unified central and regional leadership, Secretary Angara’s consultation was bolstered by the presence of Undersecretary for Field Operations, Usec. Malcolm Garma and Asec. Alberto “AP” Bartolome, alongside senior officials from the DepEd Central Office. The visit is understood to have focused on operational priorities, addressing NCR-specific challenges, and aligning Regional initiatives with the Department’s national roadmap. This grassroots engagement underscores the administration’s directive for closer collaboration between central policy-making and Regional execution.
