Turning the Page: ARAL Program Launch Marks New Era in Education Reform
DepEd NCR launched the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program on September 13, 2025, at Palanan Elementary School, marking a significant step toward addressing learning gaps in reading, science, and mathematics.
The event was graced by DepEd NCR Regional Director and concurrent Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Operations, Asec. Jocelyn DR Andaya, alongside DepEd Executive Committee members including Usec. Fatima Lipp D. Panontongan, Usec. Edson Byron Sy, and Asec. Aurelio Paulo “AP” Bartolome. Also in attendance were SDO ARAL Focal Persons from across the Region.
The hybrid launch featured inspirational messages, storytelling sessions, learner and parent testimonials, and a ceremonial turnover of learning resources and ICT equipment. A highlight was the nationwide singing of “Happy Birthday” to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who championed the program in his recent SONA.
Aligned with Republic Act 12028, the ARAL Program aims to provide free, targeted learning interventions to help every learner achieve grade-level competencies.
