Day 1 of Timón at Sagwan: Phase 1 of the LAYAG Professional Enhancement Program for Supervisors set sail yesterday, September 8, 2025, at Red Hotel Cubao, gathering Education Program Supervisors and Public Schools District Supervisors from across the National Capital Region.
The event opened with a powerful session by DepEd NCR Regional Director and concurrent Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Operations, Asec. Jocelyn DR Andaya, who challenged attendees with her talk, “Why Need to RISE?” emphasizing our collective commitment in elevating learning outcomes in the Region.
Later, Assistant Secretary for Learning Systems Strand, Asec. Jerome T. Buenviaje inspired the participants with his discussion on “Integrity-Based Curriculum,” highlighting how ethical foundations must anchor instructional supervision and policy implementation.
Energized and reflective, supervisors are now better equipped to navigate the complexities of educational leadership, embodying the spirit of Timón at Sagwan — steering and rowing with purpose and principle. Day 2 continues today with more capacity-building sessions.
