NCR Voices Take Center Stage: Regional Office Personnel Reveal Soul of Poetry in Vibrant Contest
DepEd NCR transformed the Varela Hall into a sanctuary of spoken word as Regional Office Personnel stepped away from their desks and onto the stage for the Poetry Delivery Contest, an initiative personally instructed by Asec. Jocelyn DR Andaya in celebration of the National Arts Month. The Regional Director herself set the artistic tone, delivering select pieces from her curated poetry bank, a gesture that underscored the administration’s commitment to leading by creative example.
In the Filipino Category, Mr. Jerol C. De Lira of HRDD-NEAP R moved the audience with his stirring rendition of “Pag-ibig sa Tinubuang Lupa,” securing the top spot. Meanwhile, Mr. Kyle B. Vilgera of the Legal Unit captivated listeners with “The Moon And The River,” bagging the English Category crown.
Judges from SDO Navotas and SDO Manila adjudicated the morning-long exhibition of literary prowess. Emceed by Dr. Arnold C. Gatus, the event was a seamless collaboration between CLMD and HRDD, a proof that beyond policies and programs, DepEd NCR family breathes poetry.
From the prelude of voices in verse to the final applause, the contest affirmed that in every DepEd NCR employee lies a poet waiting to be heard.
