Charting the SHS Future: DepEd NCR Leads Consultation on Strengthened SHS Program
Regional partners and pilot school representatives convened today, February 12, 2026, at the Varela Hall for a pivotal Consultation Meeting on the Strengthened Senior High School Program—a significant stride toward transformative basic education in the region.
DepEd NCR Regional Director and concurrent Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Operations, Asec. Jocelyn DR Andaya underscored the endeavor’s importance in her message, emphasizing shared ownership in shaping SHS implementation. Assistant Secretary and Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Undersecretary for Learning Systems, Asec. Carmela C. Oracion and Dir. Ma. Guia M. Del Valle-Ramoso of the Bureau of Curriculum Development, delivered the core presentation on the SY 2026–2027 implementation, detailing the program overview, key policy directions, and learning delivery modalities backed by strengthened support mechanisms.
CLMD Chief Micah G. Pacheco provided an in-depth profile of NCR’s pilot schools alongside implementation updates, while EQUIP’s Data and GIS Specialist, Mr. Emil Monroy, showcased the newly developed NCR Senior High School Dashboard—developed in partnership with AUSAID—designed to drive data-informed decisions for inclusive quality education.
The meeting proper also fostered robust exchange during the open forum, tackling curriculum delivery, assessment, learning resources, and teacher training. Action points and timelines were outlined to sustain momentum. Together, we advance a strengthened, future-ready SHS program for every learner.
