A powerful commitment to the nation’s future was solemnized today as thousands of educators from the National Capital Region formally pledged their duty in a historic ceremony. The atmosphere at the Makati Coliseum was electric with purpose on Friday morning, February 6, 2026, for “RISE in Service: Oath-Taking Ceremony of DepEd NCR Teachers and School Heads.”
DepEd NCR Regional Director and concurrent Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Operations, Asec. Jocelyn DR Andaya led in hosting the 2,915 teachers and school heads from across the metropolis. SDO Makati City headed by SDS Ma. Evalou Concepcion A. Agustin served as the host division of the activity.
The event reached a monumental peak with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. delivering a stirring keynote address, emphasizing the central role of teachers in national development. He was joined by Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara, who provided an inspiring message to the assembly.
The program, preceded by cultural performances, saw Makati Mayor, Hon. Maria Lourdes Nancy S. Binay extending a warm welcome. The collective oath was witnessed by the DepEd Executive Committee, Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents, and Makati LGU, symbolizing a unified government commitment to empowering educators. This ceremony marks a renewed vow of service, dedication, and excellence for the classrooms of Metro Manila.
