Strengthening Procurement Practices Through Collaboration
The Procurement Unit, together with the Chief of the Administrative Division, conducted the CY 2026 2nd Semester Community of Practice (CoP) with the Procurement Focal Persons of the Functional Divisions, Sections, and Units of the Regional Office Proper.
The CoP served as a venue for sharing experiences, addressing common concerns, and strengthening coordination in the implementation of procurement processes. Atty. Joylyn P. Dulnuan, Chief Administrative Officer of the Administrative Division, delivered a message and shared insights on the importance of conducting the CoP twice a year as a platform for continuous learning and improvement.
Ms. Arlyn J. Cabiten, SEPS and Head of the Procurement Unit, discussed the issues and concerns encountered by the Procurement Unit in the processing of requests for procurement. She also provided updates on the Framework Agreements for Catering Services and Venues for DepEd NCR.
Meanwhile, Ms. Karen Claire M. Esico conducted a run-through of the Modernized Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (mPhilGEPS), highlighting the processes involved in the preparation and posting of bid opportunities.
The queries and concerns raised by the Procurement Focal Persons were also addressed and clarified, with the assistance of Ms. Elaine Raquel Santos, OIC of the Budget Section, ensuring a more comprehensive understanding of the processes and requirements.
Through this collaborative learning session, the CoP strengthened the capacity of Procurement Focal Persons and fostered better coordination toward more efficient, responsive, and well-coordinated procurement services.
