Twin Triumphs: NCR Bags 2nd Top Performing Region in NSPC, Rules NFOT as Overall Champion

DepEd National Capital Region has once again stamped its mark on the national stage, delivering a back‑to‑back powerhouse performance in two major DepEd national events.
At the 2026 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) in Ormoc City, Leyte last April 13–17, 2026, NCR emerged as the 2nd Top Performing Region. The region also clinched 1st Place in the Elementary Level, 1st Place in the Top 3 Elementary Group, and 2nd Place in the Top 3 Secondary Group – proving that campus journalism in Metro Manila remains sharp, ethical, and excellent.
But the winning didn’t stop there. From April 18–22, 2026 NCR swept the National Festival of Talents (NFOT) in Roxas City, Leyte, bagging the Overall Champion crown plus the prestigious NFOT Excellence Award – a testament to the region’s creativity, discipline, and artistic brilliance.
DepEd NCR Regional Director and concurrent Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Operations, Asec. Jocelyn DR. Andaya, lauds the delegates for bringing home most of the top awards in both NSPC and NFOT.
With back‑to‑back national accolades secured, all hands are now on deck for the 2026 Palarong Pambansa in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur this May. Is NCR aiming for a triple crown?
One Region. One winning heart!
